Group 2A
has always been a hotly contested division and come October
29th, it will simply explode as the Guyana flag drops to
give these drivers the signal to stomp on their
accelerators. Peter Morgan in his #31 Ford Escort has always
been the man to beat in this group and he will be returning
once more to prove that he owns GP2A. Jad Rahaman, former
GP#3 speed ace with more than 30 years of racing under
his belt, now calls group 2A home. Jad sent a strong
message two meets ago that he means business after winning
all three of the 2A events, Jad is presently fine tuning the
JR Burger's Ford Escort to lay yet another assault on his
fellow GP2A competitors, many of whom are half his age.
Shyraz
Roshandin, former Rookie Champ will be driving the FullWorks
sponsored Toyota Corolla and will be hoping to take home the
checkered flag in this division as well as in the faster
GP2B events that he is listed to compete in. Audie Singh,
Vishaul Sawh, Fazal Habibhola, Richard Singh, Eric Tucker,
Chet Singh and Raj Boodhoo will be the other Guyanese
warriors defending the Golden Arrowhead against the foreign
invasion led by the ever quick Joe Mohan in his 4AGE powered
Toyota Levin. Joe's USA teammates will include Jag Singh,
Damian Singh & Copper Rahaman. A Team from Barbados is
expected to be named shortly and at least 2 cars are due to
leave Barbados on Thursday October 19th to compete in this
blistering hot division. |

What
happens when you add gasoline to a burning house? What
happens when you put 22 determined drivers together in one
division?? What happens when you put the Guyana group 2B
champion Rupie Shewjattan against the South Dakota
International defending Champion Tanko Babolall?
What
happens when you add in Ryan Rahaman in to this war? What
happens when you throw in Shyraz Roshandin, Kamal Seebaran,
Peter Morgan and Errol Tenpow? We are not done as yet, bring
in Shazim Khan, Kamal Rahaman, Keith Evelyn and add them to
this war zone, what do you have then???? And again we are
not done, add in Vishok Persaud whose Honda has a turbo
charger big enough to make most mechanics do a double take
in disbelief.
And even with all that I
mentioned, we still have more, add in Kawall Deosarran with
his brand spanking new Lotus Excige and then add in former
grasstrack champ Steven DeNobrega with his 3SGE powered
Toyotas Corolla, then add in the Canadian female driving
sensation Deborah Mendonca, what, what do you have?????
Just
incase you think you have the answer, let me add in Team
USA's bad boy John Joseph with his turbo charged Honda
Civic, what do you have now???? And we are still not done as
yet, Christian Bourne just emailed me to say that he is
bringing over his orange bad ass Turbo Charged Honda to add
even more fuel to this highly explosive situation.
Well just
incase you cant figure what we have here, let me just say
that on October 29th, when the Guyana flag drops to let
these speedsters off, it will make the war in Baghdad look
like a church picnic. |

Group 3,
the place where only the really big boys play. Mark Vieira,
Andrew Morgan, Andrew King, Peter Morgan and Ryan Rahaman
will be in charge of defending the home turf this Sunday.
Leading
the overseas invasion is the defending Caribbean Champion
David Summerbell of Jamaica and he is being backed up by the
super quick Peter Rae. Summerbell will be driving an all
wheel drive Mitsubishi Evo6 while his team mate will be
piloting a tube framed Mazda RX7.
Ravi Singh
and Gerald Carrinton will be doubling up the attack from the
twin island state of Trinidad and Tobago. Ravi will be
driving his turbo charged 3rd generation Mazda RX7 while his
teammate will be driving an all wheel drive turbo charged
Mitsubishi Mivec.
From the
United States, Kem Lall and Sanjay Sewsankar will launch yet
another attack of their own in a bid to demolish the
Guyanese defenders.
From the
land of the Maple Leaf, Canada, Patrick Tong and Shawn
King will be launching a double tube framed attack to
further weaken the Guyanese home team. Tong will be debuting
his Tube framed Mazda RX7 on the South Dakota while Shawn
King will serve as his much needed backup.
This is
going to be the showdown of the century, make sure that you
are here to see it.
Skyline Mortgage will present
G$1,00,000 to the GP3 driver who is crowned the Champion on
October 29th. Does this add to the excitement, you bet it
does.
