GMR&SC's Three Hours Endurance Race held on the South Dakota large Circuit June 22nd 2008. Event sponsored by GT&T Cellink Plus, CARIB Beer, Sunburst Orange Juice and Ray's Motor Spares & Auto Sales

Endurance racing returned to the South Dakota Circuit with a bang on Sunday June 22nd 2008. Eighteen cars started the event but that number went up to about twenty two as late comers joined the fun mid race. Other then the Honda S2000 of Team Boodhoo most of the other entries were powered by Toyota 4AGE engines. Also in the mix were five turbo charged Toyota Starlets but by the time the checkered flag was being lowered only the totally stock Team Ray's Motor Spares Starlet/Glanza was still up and running for the turbo charged entries. It was three brutal hours of non stop racing as many driver pushed to the limit to hold on their positions, most of the teams that started were unable to complete the three hours.

This was such an amazing event that it will be remembered for a long time to come. It really does not matter if your team won or not or if you were not able to complete the full three hours, just to be able to say that you were part of this incredible event is enough bragging rights for a long time to come. The GMR&SC takes this opportunity to congratulate every team and driver who took part.

Adrian Fernandes and Anand Ramchand driving the Trans Pacific/Ramchands Auto Body Toyota Corolla sped away with the overall victory completing 111 laps in the three hours. They also picked up the checkered flag in the 1800cc category. Second position in the 1800cc grouping and fourth place overall went to Kamal Seebarran, Bunny Persaud and Vinu Sawh of Team Rays Motor Spares.

Team Fullworks 2 captained by Aaron Bethune with co-drivers Shawn Seejatan & Naresh driving a Supercharged 4AGE Corolla placed first in the unlimited class and second overall with 111 laps. Shairaz and Shahab Roshandin also of Team Fullworks placed first in the 1600cc class and third overall, they completed 107 laps even thought they were forced to spend almost 15 minutes in the paddocks repairing a broken fuel pump on their Toyota Levin.

Special mention must be made of the extraordinary contribution of Fullworks Auto Spares, of the eighteen cars that started this event, five of those cars were sponsored or owned by Fullworks.

With word about the amazing motor racing action in Guyana spreading across the globe, two team from Suriname made their way across the border to participate in this amazing endurance event. Team Automotive Art of Surinamese placed second in the 1600cc group much to their delight, they have promised to return in bigger numbers for future events.

We will post the names of all the drivers who took part a bit later on this webpage.
