                                             Group 2B
With Ryan Rahaman leaving group 2B permanently to race in the higher GP3 and GP4 classes, the remaining 2B daredevils are all gearing up to stamp their individual authority in this extremely competitive division but because only one checkered flag is allotted per race, it's going to be nothing but pure unadulterated warfare when the start flag in lowered on July 27th. With a solid victory at the last race meeting, Rupie "Showtime" Shewjattan is once more on the hunt for the GP2B Championship with his turbo-charged AutoFashion sponsored Starlet. Shewjattan will however
face stiff opposition from veterans Fazal Habibhola and Errol Tenpow before he can lay claim to the coveted GP2B top prize. Also gunning for top GP2B podium spots will be Afraz Ally, Gavin Gouveia, Vishaul Sawh, Danny Persaud and US based Kawall Deosarran driving the Skyline Mortgage Lotus Elise.

Ryan Rahaman, the 2008 group three championship points leader will have to pull out all of the stops to hold off speed aces Kamal Seebarran, Keith Evelyn, Gavin Gayadin, US based John Joseph, Kemal Rahaman and other drivers in this high pressure grouping. Seebarran has done extensive work to his 3rd generation Mazda RX7 and from all appearance, it has gotten much quicker. Not one to be left out of the fast paced action, Keith Evelyn and his Hand In Hand Insurance sponsored turbo-charged Honda Civic has made major adjustments to his suspension and fuel management system. Evelyn is extremely confident of his chances on the 27th and as such has thrown out the challenge to fellow GP3 competitors to match his speed come race day. US based Kemal “the One Armed Wonderboy” Rahaman will also be in action with his reworked Mazda RX7. Team Alamo’s Gavin Gayadin will be taking to the South Dakota Circuit with is extremely powerful turbo charged 4AGE powered BMW, this car was clocked on the speed gun at an amazing 112 MPH.                                               Group 4
All eyes will be on the prestigious group 4 division as South Dakota’s newest lap record holder Andrew King, who by the way picked up an additional fifty horsepower after dyno-testing his Mazda recently in Jamaica, prepares to defend his lead in the 2008 motor racing championship of Guyana against the hard charging Mark Vieira. Vieira recently bought a spanking new dry sump Guru engine for his Mazda RX 7 and he is hoping that this new hardware will give him the edge he needs to return to his winning ways.

At the race meet in May of this year, Kevin Jeffery stunned his fellow GP4 drivers when he pulled off an unexpected victory with his AWD turbo-charged 550 BHP Mitsubishi Evolution 8. With much development work done to this amazing car over the last few months, Kevin Jeffery is now considered to be the biggest threat to the reign of Andrew King. Adding much excitement to the group four battle will be Andrew Morgan who is now piloting a tube frame Rotary powered Mazda RX7. With just a few laps of seat time in this completely new chassis, Morgan has already recorded 36 seconds lap times. Bear in mind that the all time lap record of the South Dakota Circuit stands just a stone throw away at 35.07 seconds.

Canada’s Shawn King will be in the midst of the group 4 action with his tube frame Mazda which he has fitted a new Dave Diedrick built 13B rotary engine that promises to increase his power output by at least 35 percent.

With a new Cosworth high tech engine fitted to his Subaru Impreza, Vishok Persaud is hoping to overcome the mechanical gremlins that have kept him on the sideline for the last three race meetings. Persaud’s Sunburst sponsored Impreza has already indicated that it is one of the fastest cars on the South Dakota Circuit, getting it reliable is now the biggest hurdle to overcome.

To add even more excitement to the group four fray, Ravi Singh of Trinidad and Tobago will make a guest appearance with his Turbo-charged third generation Mazda RX7. Speed ace Ryan Rahaman is expected to debut his spanking new turbocharged Ford Sierra which he will use to compete in both group three and group four. Ryan presently leads the 2008 points standings for group three. Ryan’s decision to test his skills against the top group four drivers of Guyana could see him becoming a member of Team Guyana in the remaining rounds of the 2008 Caribbean championship.

Guyana’s group four drivers are using this July 27th race meeting as a warm up for the upcoming second round of the 2008 Caribbean Championship scheduled for August 31st in Barbados at the Bushy Park Raceway. Jamaican David Summerbell leads the points standing after round one with twenty points followed closely by Guyana’s Andrew King on nineteen points.

Coming off of a very impressive showing at the last race meeting in May of this year, young Christopher Mclean is looking to further increase his lead in the 2008 125cc championship. Top 125cc contenders Charley Henry and Ravi Singh will be out to put an end to the winning ways of young Mclean. The lightweight class is made up mostly of full race 125cc two stroke motocross bikes converted to road racing specs, these bikes easily produce in excess of 49 horsepower and laps the South Dakota small circuit at times of 40 to 43 seconds. Over the years many 125cc riders have moved up to the bigger capacity machines and as such this class is seen as the training ground for speed aces who love to slide around the South Dakota Circuit on just two wheels.

The Shifter 125 division is locked in battle with Kristian Jeffery holding onto a narrow lead over younger cousin Stefan Jeffery as they head into the third round of battle for 2008 on July 27th. These tiny but extremely fast race machines are best described as miniature Formula 1 cars due to their complex makeup. Weighing just about 320 pounds including driver, these karts put out somewhere in the vicinity of 50 horsepower and can easily out accelerate most if not al of the bigger group four cars on South Dakota. Jerry Max Gouveia, Marcus Feidtkou and Shane Ally round up the top five 2008 points leaders in this highly competitive grouping.
